Place to Recharge in Nature.
The Beauty of Simplicity.
True relaxation does not need luxury – it needs nature.
Our rooms are intentionally simple and natural, crafted from the fragrant spruce wood of our surrounding forests. This warm and authentic atmosphere creates the perfect environment for deep, restorative sleep.
What makes Plafötsch special is the exclusivity of its small scale: we host a maximum of 12 guests at any one time. For you, this means no crowds, no anonymity, and no distractions. Just you, the mountains, and the peace that comes with them.
Whether you are travelling alone, as a couple, or with your family, our five cosy retreats offer exactly the space you need to arrive, unwind, and feel at home. A place that recalls the simplicity of times gone by while giving you the freedom to simply be.

Four Paws Welcome

To ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone on the mountain
- whether with two legs or four - we kindly ask you to observe the following:
- Arrive and Relax: We welcome well-behaved dogs that are accustomed to travelling and feel comfortable in the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain hut.
- Respect Nature and Others: We are located in the heart of the Schlern–Rosengarten Nature Park. To protect local wildlife and out of consideration for hikers and fellow guests, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, both on our property and in the surrounding area. This helps everyone - human and canine alike - enjoy nature in a relaxed and respectful way.
- Bring Your Dog's Own Bed: Our rooms are furnished with natural wood, and to help preserve them, the beds are reserved for our two-legged guests. Please bring your dog's own blanket or bed so they can enjoy a familiar and comfortable sleeping place of their own.
- Outdoor Dining Together: Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted inside our cosy dining room. However, whenever the weather allows - which is most of the time - we serve breakfast and dinner on our sunny terrace. Your four-legged friend is more than welcome to stay by your side there while you relax and enjoy the mountain views.

Precious & Self-Sufficient
Living in Harmony with Nature
At Plafötsch, you experience the mountains as they truly are: powerful, beautiful, and sometimes a little unpredictable.
We live completely self-sufficiently and are not connected to the public utility network. Our electricity is generated on-site, and our water comes directly from a mountain spring that has supplied the hut since my grandfather's time.
This independence is one of our greatest treasures, but it also calls for a mindful use of resources. Up here, water and energy are precious gifts, not something to be taken for granted.
We invite you to embrace this conscious way of living with us.
A single shower a day instead of three, turning off the lights when the stars are bright enough—these small gestures are our shared contribution to sustainability.
We take the same thoughtful approach to laundry. Towels are not replaced daily, but only when truly needed. Together, we can help conserve valuable mountain water and energy.
From time to time, the mountains may remind us of their own rhythm, and there may be brief interruptions to electricity or water supply.
But that is part of what makes Plafötsch so special:
